SMS/MMS & Communications Terms and Conditions

PIWC Philadelphia uses SMS, MMS, and related communication services to communicate with Church members, visitors, guests, parents or guardians, ministry participants, and other individuals who have voluntarily provided their contact information and, where applicable, opted in to receive such communications.

Communications may include:

• Church announcements and important updates
• Worship service reminders
• Church event and program reminders
• Ministry updates
• Attendance and check-in notifications
• Schedule changes or cancellations
• Meeting reminders
• Administrative notifications
• Member care and follow-up communications, including checking on the well-being of members
• Pastoral or ministry follow-up communications
• SMS/text messages to check in with members and maintain ongoing Church communication
• MMS messages, where appropriate, including Church-related images, graphics, or other media
• Phone calls from authorized Church leaders, staff, or ministry representatives for member care, follow-up, or other Church-related communications
• Other Church-related informational communications

The specific communications you receive may depend on your relationship with the Church, your communication preferences, and the types of communications for which you have provided your contact information or consent.

By providing your mobile phone number and voluntarily opting in to the PIWC Philadelphia messaging program, you authorize PIWC Philadelphia to send SMS and MMS messages to the mobile number you provided.

Where applicable, Church leaders, staff, or authorized ministry representatives may also use the contact information you have provided to communicate with you regarding Church-related matters.

Consent to receive SMS/MMS messages is voluntary.

Consent to receive SMS/MMS messages is not a condition of Church membership, attendance at worship services, participation in Church ministries, programs, events, or other Church activities.

You are responsible for providing a valid mobile number that you own or are otherwise authorized to use.

Message frequency may vary depending on Church activities, events, schedules, ministries, administrative needs, and member-care communications.

Some periods may result in more frequent communications than others. PIWC Philadelphia does not guarantee a specific number of messages.

Message and data rates may apply.

Your mobile carrier's standard messaging, data, calling, and other applicable charges may apply to communications sent or received in connection with the Church's communication program.

Please contact your wireless carrier if you have questions regarding your mobile service plan.

You may opt out of receiving SMS/MMS messages from PIWC Philadelphia at any time by replying:

After sending STOP, you may receive a confirmation message indicating that you have been unsubscribed.

Once your opt-out request has been processed, you will no longer receive SMS/MMS messages associated with the messaging program unless you subsequently provide consent or opt in again.

Opting out of SMS/MMS communications does not affect your Church membership or ability to attend worship services, events, ministries, or other Church activities.

PIWC Philadelphia may use SMS, MMS, telephone calls, and other communication methods as part of its member-care and ministry activities.

These communications may include general check-ins, follow-up after Church services or events, ministry-related outreach, encouragement, administrative follow-up, or inquiries regarding a member's general well-being.

Because SMS and MMS communications may not be appropriate for confidential or sensitive matters, recipients should avoid sending highly sensitive personal information through text messaging. Where appropriate, pastoral or confidential matters may be moved to a telephone call, in-person conversation, or another suitable communication method.

PIWC Philadelphia respects your privacy.

Personal information collected in connection with our messaging program is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Mobile information, including mobile phone numbers and SMS/MMS opt-in data and consent, will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

SMS/MMS opt-in consent is specific to PIWC Philadelphia and will not be transferred to another organization for its independent marketing or promotional purposes.

We may use telecommunications providers, messaging platforms, technology providers, and other service providers that assist us in delivering communications or operating Church systems. These providers may process information only as reasonably necessary to provide services on our behalf.

SMS and MMS delivery is subject to the availability and operation of wireless networks and mobile carriers.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

PIWC Philadelphia cannot guarantee that every SMS or MMS message will be delivered or received within a particular period.

Wireless carriers may delay, filter, or prevent delivery for reasons outside the Church's control.

PIWC Philadelphia serves individuals and families of different ages.

Where communications relate to children or youth participating in Church programs, contact information may be provided by a parent or legal guardian, and appropriate authorization or consent will be obtained where required.

The Church does not intend to knowingly enroll children in recurring SMS/MMS communications without appropriate authorization where required.

Individuals may request that PIWC Philadelphia update or correct their contact information or communication preferences.

Opting out of one method of communication does not necessarily prevent the Church from contacting an individual through another appropriate method when the individual has separately provided that contact information or consent, or where communication is otherwise permitted.

SMS/MMS recipients may opt out of the messaging program at any time by replying STOP.

PIWC Philadelphia may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of its SMS/MMS messaging program at any time.

The Church may also update these Terms periodically to reflect changes in Church operations, communications practices, technology, legal requirements, or regulatory requirements.

Updated Terms will be posted with a revised effective date.

SMS, MMS, and telephone communications are provided as communication conveniences and should not be relied upon for emergencies.

If you are experiencing an emergency or require immediate assistance, please contact the appropriate emergency service or other appropriate resource.

By voluntarily opting in to receive SMS/MMS communications from PIWC Philadelphia, you acknowledge that you have read and understand these Terms and agree to receive communications in accordance with the consent you provided.

You may withdraw your consent to SMS/MMS communications at any time by replying STOP.
